Schools Activities
Ao Yon Beach is perfect for schools activities and programs. It's a hidden treasure! The beach location is very quiet and secluded. Access to the beach is by foot. The beach is perfect, gently sloping, clean, no rocks, no urchins and generally very small waves. It's Phukets safest beach location and one of its best. Our Water Sports Base is right in the middle of the beach. Its a truly perfect location for water sport for schools. We arrange Duke of Edinburgh International Award programs - sailing and camping expeditions - canoeing and SUP expeditions and a range of shorter multiactivity outdoor education school trips and less expensive day and half day trips. We have dragon boats too so we can arrange regattas and inter school competitions.
Sail in Asia are the biggest water sports centre in Asia. Mike Downard is a qualified UK trained teacher who used to run London's biggest water sports centre. He is an ISSA and IYT instructor trainer and examiner. Your students are in safe hands with Sail in Asia. Our outdoor education activities and expeditions, are attended by some of the best schools in Asia. We organise Adventurous Journeys (International Award) for International Schools from Thailand, China, Malaysia, Singapore, HK and South Korea. Tropical Island Day Trips.
We take your students to a beautiful island not far from our base where a coral reef exists that has an abundance of marine creatures. The leather backed turtle lays eggs on Phuket beaches and dolphins are also to be found here. Snorkel off the back of our boat and be amazed by the diversity of sea life
Surf Kayaking
Try our inflatable or sit on canoes and play on the surf racing down waves, falling over and then recovering and speeding along again. Great fun and safe at Ao Yon Beach

Stand Up Paddle
The SUP's we own are usually used when we are in Ao Yon Bay but can also be included in canoeing trips where we paddle up rivers as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. We use SUP boards and Canoes for adventurous journeys around the islands, as well as river trips and day excursions along the coast. Students are accompanied by safety boats and instructors. We brief every lesson and ensure students are fully guided and supported. Le's go?
Dragonboating
Most of our Dragon Boating takes place at Ao Yon because the bay is sheltered and the waves are small. These boats are big and take up to 16-22 Students. They require flat water and lots of sun. Schools enjoy regattas on the beach and a BBQ - talk to us if you only have a day to play - this could be one of the activities that you choose. Dragonboats are also used on our river and camping trips. If you are interested give us a call.
Kayaking
School Groups can book to come to Phuket Water Sports Centre on a regular basis or an occasional basis. We have 12 canoes that can take up to 28 students. Teachers are welcome to join in with the activities. Our instructors are well trained and safe. Each one has first aid training and years of experience. Kayaking trips can also be arranged for adventurous journeys for schools operating the Duke of Edinburgh Award

Shanghai Baby is our fast Trimaran that is super safe and very exciting - especially when its windy. A trip on this boat is ideal for groups of up to 8-10 students

Our expert instructors can run courses in our small Platu day sailing yachts or we can run dinghy courses in Open Skiffs! Talk to us and we can discuss options with you.
